The creation of "International Euroasian Congress of Gastroenterelogy and Surgery" and its role to the development of Gastroenterelogy to the Euroasian Countries.

Since 1996, when Euroasian colleagues met in international congresses or other meetings, a great enthusiasm and a friendly approach were the prominent feelings between us. We were always thinking that we must do something in the Euroasian Basin for our speciality, something to unite us as a family, a tool to help each other, a weapon to strengthen and maintain our relationships.

Congresses organized by Euroasian Gastroenterelogical Association :

• The 1^st Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in May 1997 in Baku.
  
• The 2^nd Euroasian Congress of EGA was decided to take place in Almaty on June 1998.
  
• The 3^rd Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in October 1999 in Antalya
  
• The 4^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in June 2000 in Tashkent.
  
• The 5^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in June 2001 in Bishkek.
  
• The 6^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in June 2003 in Baku.
  
• The 7^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in September, 2004 in Istanbul.
  
• The 8^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in June 2005 in Tbilisi.
  
• The 9^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in May 2006 in Baku.
  
• The 10^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in December 2007 in Isfahan.
  
• The 11^th Euroasian Congress of EGA took place in June 2008 in Baku.
